Why Visit Zambia

Welcome to Zambia, one of the most remote and wild safari destinations on the African continent. Here you will find some of the continent's most pristine and unspoiled wildlife areas, topped off with the magnificent Victoria Falls. Zambia is a landlocked country with a generally pleasant climate, though the river valleys are typically hotter and more humid. Safari-goers from all over the world come here to experience the natural beauty and wonder of Zambia's many different animals and landscapes. Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls, also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders), are the largest falls in the world and are situated on the Zambezi River between Zambia and Zimbabwe. They are regarded as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and were found by the well-known Scottish missionary David Livingstone.

When experienced firsthand, Victoria Falls live up to all of their reputations as being breathtaking, dramatic, and a must-see during any specially designed Southern Africa safari. Despite being relatively small—Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is only 66 sq km, and Victoria Falls National Park on the Zimbabwean side is only 23 sq km—the two national parks that surround the falls are rich in wildlife and fauna and provide thrilling game drives.

SOUTH AFRICA

MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK

The Masai Mara National Reserve spans 1,510 square kilometres and is situated in the southwest of Kenya (583 square miles). It is home to an abundance of species and unending plains.

The traditional Masai Mara safari offers a variety of activities because the reserve is home to a magnificent year-round concentration of game, including the over two million wildebeest, zebras, and other antelopes that make up the well-known Great Migration.

The reserve is a photographer's and naturalist's paradise with its abundance of elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion, and cheetah in addition to migratory wildebeest and zebra. Leopards are frequently spotted, black rhinoceroses, which are endangered, hide in thick vegetation, and the Mara River is home to enormous crocodiles and rafts of hippopotamuses.

South Luangwa National Park

With a total area of over 9050 square kilometres, South Luangwa National Park has one of the largest densities of wildlife of any park in Africa. Large animal populations can thrive in the rich fields made possible by the park's life-giving Luangwa River.

The two most popular ways to experience the park's enormous wildlife presence are walking safaris and game drives. In terms of lodging, luxury lodges guarantee guests a top-notch travel experience in the heart of Africa.

Kafue National Park

4,092 square kilometres (1,580 square miles) of unspoiled nature make up the magnificent Lower Zambezi National Park. It shares a border with Zimbabwe's Mana Pools Reserve, forming a vast area of wilderness that is protected, and it offers stunning views of the Zambezi River and a beautiful riverside environment.

Along the riverbanks, huge elephant herds are frequently spotted, along with buffalo, lion, and leopard. The park has a fantastic selection of ecosystems that are home to a wide variety of creatures.

Most camps provide a full range of water sports in addition to their typical walking and driving options since, unlike the Luangwa, the Zambezi is navigable all year long.

Liuwa Plains National Park

Liuwa Plains National Park was regarded as a "game reserve" by the Lozi people since the 19th century, when their Litunga (king) entrusted them with caring for the area's wildlife. The park was formally recognised by the government in 1972.

Its remoteness in Zambia's far western regions guarantees a superb, unspoiled wildlife experience, with huge herds of lion, wild dog, and wildebeest roaming the area's golden plains. A variety of bird species can be found in the park, making it a great place for off-the-beaten-path birdwatching expeditions.
